Using RockScan

Identification and valuation

RockScan provides likely identifications from photographs. Results can be wrong, and similar-looking rocks, glass and synthetic materials may be confused. Physical testing or a qualified gemologist may be needed to confirm a specimen.

Value estimates are guidance, not authentication, an appraisal, or an offer to buy. Size, weight, quality, treatment and provenance affect value. Price references are dated asking prices where indicated; RockScan does not currently provide a verified historical market-price feed.

Your subscription

RockScan Pro offers a $3.99 weekly membership charged immediately, or an annual membership with three free days for eligible new subscribers followed by $29.99 per year. Prices are in US dollars. A payment method is required for either plan. Both renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel the annual plan before its trial ends to avoid the first charge. Previous subscribers are not eligible for another free trial. Manage cancellation and payment details through your profile. Cancellation stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the trial or paid period.

Your membership includes up to 60 scan attempts per day, with a maximum of four per minute. Unclear photos may need another attempt. Do not automate bulk scans, share account access, or upload material you do not have permission to use.

Your collection

You retain ownership of your uploaded photos and notes. You can export your collection from your profile. Only upload photos you are permitted to share with the identification service.
